Fujison in the Ikegami area

Hi! Today, I'd like to introduce an okonomiyaki restaurant and Ikegami Honmonji Temple. Ikegami is known for Ikegami Honmonji Temple. Every New Year, the trains are crowded with people going to Ikegami Honmonji Temple for a New Year's visit. Lately, the temperature has been getting colder, so I went to eat okonomiyaki and monja with my friend.

Fujison is an okonomiyaki restaurant. This restaurant is located on a shopping street next to Ikegami Station. We got there around 4 pm and there were only a few customers. The inside of restaurant smells wonderfully of okonomiyaki cooked by other customers. By the way, do you know monja and okonomiyaki? I think these dishes are original Japanese dishes. The big difference between these is their shape when completed. Monja is slimy and messy. Some people may not like the look of it, but the taste is of course delicious. Okonomiyaki is shaped like a pancake. When okonomiyaki is well done, pour the sauce and mayonnaise as you like to it. We ate several monja and okonomiyaki, but forgot to take pictures and I couldn't get them to look nice, so I'll show you the only good picture I could get, the gratin monja (グラタンもんじゃ). Gratin monja is topped with a lot of cabbage, white sauce, cheese, bacon, dried squid and dried shrimp. It didn't look like a gratin, but the white sauce was so thick, it tasted exactly like a gratin.

Ikegami Honmonji Temple is located a 10 minute walk from Ikegami Station. You can see the beautiful cherry blossoms in the spring. There is also the oldest five-story pagoda in Kanto. I visited Ikegami Honmonji Temple twice, before and after dinner. When I went after dinner, the sky was dark, the five-story pagoda was lit up, and the atmosphere was majestic.
