Hormone Matsusakaji in the Kamata area

Hi! Today, I'd like to introduce a yakiniku restaurant and a rooftop amusement park above the Kamata Station. Hormone Matsusakaji is located in Kamata, and near my house. The restaurant is small, but it' s so popular that customers line up outside the restaurant at dinner time. The special feature of the restaurant is that they serve only Matsusaka beef! And there is wide variety of offal (臓物) among them. I went for lunch with my friend on a Saturday afternoon. Compared to the evening, there were only a few customers, but they all seemed to be regulars. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere was really good! I hadn't eaten much Matsusaka beef, so this was very exciting for me!

There are 2 types of menus. Course menu and a la carte menu. If you order a course, you can add your favorite dishes from the a la carte menu. It was my first visit to the restaurant, I ordered the "Easy Champon Course" (2480 yen) recommended by the restaurant. This course includes kimchi, cabbage, salt hatsu, 6 kinds of offal (marucho, liver, shimacho, senmai, hormone, mino), rib (カルビ) and dessert. When I hear the word "hormone", I imagine plump meat, but I was surprised at how delicious the salt hatsu was. It was tender and juicy every time I chewed it. The 6 kinds of hormones were prepared with miso sauce. The gray color meat is called "Senmai" and is the 3rd stomach of a cow. It can be eaten just by baking for 30 seconds and it has an interesting crunchy texture. I love liver, but this restaurant's liver has no distinctive smell at all, and the miso sauce gives it a sweet taste. Maybe even people who don't like liver can eat it!  The ribs were quite tender and tasted better than any ribs I've ever had!!

After lunch, I went to Kamata Station. There is an amusement park above the station. Now it has been renovated and only has a Ferris wheel, but when I was little, it was a great amusement park with several small attractions. It was a holiday, so there were many families there. You can ride the Ferris wheel for 300 yen, and it takes about 2 minutes to go around. From inside, you can see the tracks of Ikegami Line and Tamagawa Line. If you are interested in my blog post, please come to my lovely home town!
